Lodestar is a watch app that shows a compass arrow pointing to a friend who is in the same shared room, so you can find each other.
Your location is relayed through our server only to other people who have joined the same room code, so their watch can point to you. That is the app's sole purpose.
Your location and name are held only in memory for the duration of your session — they are never written to disk, logged, or sold. Your entry is removed automatically after ~5 minutes of inactivity, and an empty room is discarded after ~30 minutes.
When a room session ends we keep one anonymous, aggregate record so we can understand how the app is used: when the room started and ended, how many people were in it, and how many times they joined. It contains no location, no names, and no readable room code (the code is irreversibly hashed). It cannot be tied back to you or to where you were.
No accounts, no email, no advertising, no cross-site tracking, no third-party data sharing. We do not store your location and do not build a history of where you have been.
Stop sharing at any time by closing the app or leaving the room. Uninstalling removes the app entirely.
